30th Birthday Trip

I can't believe that my friends from high school and I turn 30 this year!!! We just got back from celebrating our 30th birthdays in the mountains of Ellijay.

Side note: We don't actually turn 30 until the end of the year. Two birthdays are in November, and two are in December. But with those months being saturated with Thanksgiving and Christmas madness, we decided to take our trip early ... in the summer!

Our group of four really started in the sixth grade. I'd known Anna since K-5, but the four of us clicked together around that time. As you can see, we've stuck together since. We've made it through middle and high school, college, some marriages, and now some babies!

Speaking of babies ... Anna, Whit, and I wanted to make this trip a little special on our first morning there by throwing a mini baby sprinkle for Em! We waited until Em was asleep on that first night. Then we went out in the dark to unload our cars with decor and presents. After the decorating and planning for the morning was done, we slid an "invite" under the door to Em's room so that she wouldn't come out too early.

The next morning, we got up and started the "Baby Brunch" foods! She was so surprised when she finally was allowed to come out! It was a nice start to the trip.

That first day was also spent in Ellijay, GA. We stayed in the downtown area all day long. Going in all the shops, trying on clothes, antiquing, and grabbing a light lunch and coffee.

We picked up supplies for dinner on the way home, made it back up the mountain, and had a cozy dinner in with movies and hot tub!

Feeling for baby Millie kicks. ^^^

The second full day there (Saturday), we went the opposite direction into Blue Ridge, GA. We planned to wear our dresses into town that day because we had our "Ladies' Night 2019!" We've been having a specific "ladies' night" since 2009. We ate at TREO, and it was one of the BEST meals I've had in a while. I got the catch of the day, which was grouper. It came with crisp green beans and a creamy seafood risotto. To die.

After our dinner, we headed back up the mountain for the last time! Face masks, movies, and hot tub were the evening's entertainment once again.

We had such and fun and relaxing time! I feel so special to have had these friends for so long. Good friendships are hard to come by, but I'm so glad that I DO have wonderful friends. Cheers to 30 years!... almost.
