Valentine's Weekend with Old Friends

Forever: without ever ending; eternally.
Friend: a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard.

"Forever Friends" are hard to come by. Some of us are lucky to have friends for a very long time. I am one of those people! I have at least six friends I have known since I was four/five years old. Two of which since they were babies!

This past Valentine's Day weekend, I had the privilege to take a "mini" vacation with one such friend. One I have known since we were in kindergarten together! What's funny is ... our husbands ALSO have known each other for that long. They were neighbors growing up!

Since they have moved to Alabama, we haven't gotten to see them as much. I soak it up when I can. This past weekend was needed. Full of relaxing, laughing, and sight-seeing. Justin and I had a lovely time. In the words of Anna, "The only thing that would have made it better was one more day."

The first night, we all got to The Wren's Nest a little late. A half hour of talking later, we were ready to crash.

The next morning, we had a relaxing breakfast, did some light shopping in downtown, drove a little ways into Murphy, NC for coffee at The Daily Grind, and stopped by Harrah's Cherokee Valley River Casino + Hotel. We made it back to our sweet cabin for some afternoon-to-early-evening games until 7:00. Then we made our way back into town for a delicious dinner at Harvest on Main. More games when we got back.

We had a slow Sunday morning packing up and saying goodbye to our precious abode! Then we headed to Mercier Orchards for our "farewell breakfast."

Thankful for forever friends and time away from reality!
