Clark's First Birthday

Clark's "First Birthday" theme was "One" Year to Rule Them All! For those of you who don't know ... that's Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit! Since we are in the process of moving, we didn't want to host it at our current house ... and since my parents live in a real-life Hobbit Hole ... it just made sense!

We decided to do what we did with Max's first birthday, and that is: only inviting grandpeeps, uncles, aunts, and cousins. So it was a very small party to celebrate our little dude turning the big ONE.

A lot of the other décor we already had (between my mom and I).We had a lot of fun, and he had a big day. He surprised us all by not being the biggest fan of eating the smash cake. Played with it? Definitely! But he really preferred the cookies! The cakes and cookies were done by a family friend - she did such a great job!
